Since 1986 when a group of volunteers took on the challenge of presenting a
three-day festival of at that time a mostly unknown and under-appreciated
music called Bluegrass, we have seen a significant expansion of the genre in
the local area. This festival has grown to be one of the most popular
Bluegrass and Old Time music events in Canada.

This thirty-six-year growth has established a dedicated group of attendees, some
of whom have attended from the very first festival. This music has a very loyal
following. Our festival acts as an “Old Home Week” for those who see old friends
once a year when they get together at the festival, jam at their campsites, take in
the entertainment, and generally enjoy a week on P.E.I.

Our entertainment lineup has expanded over the years and includes P.E.I. bands,
regional bands, and most recently, top-performing bands from the U.S. circuit.

The people who attend our festival spend a week to two weeks on the island patronizing
the local eateries, replenish their stock of groceries, take in many local attractions and
leave a substantial amount of money on the Island.

Over the years, the growth that we have experienced through the hard work of a
dedicated group of volunteers has put in place a great weekend of entertainment,
but it comes with a high cost. That’s where you come in. Because we feel that we
are adding to the island economy, we would like to ask for your financial
support in this event.
